So everyone correct me if I am wrong but I am trying to sum up what you guys have said here and what we as the WLP staff would like to see as well. Here is what I have so far.

Summary of Input from the WLP Rant Thread

Cash Tournaments – Figure out how to offset them with Prize only events and do away with them.

New _title_s- Introduce them into Open Play games and schedule times when they are the only game available on the Big Server. Begin the Phase out of old games like CS 1.6.

Power – Try to work with the Hotel or wherever we move to make sure we have ample power, even if we have to draw it from other places.

Network/Internet – Nothing to change here except the move to gigabit hopefully soon.

Decimation of information – Provide either by whiteboard, projector, or event handout details on ALP, Servers, Network Shares for patches and demos, Schedule, etc.

Location – Either work with the hotel or find another location not located right next to a bar.

WLP Staff Requests for everyone else.

Post events Feedback – Hit the forums if possible within a week of the event and provide us feedback in the sound-off section. Doesn’t matter if it is good, bad, or indifferent just leave us something to work off of.

When we put up a poll please vote! It shows us where everyone’s interests are right now.

Be active on the forums. Why have them if no one is going to use them! We provide them so Wichita’s gamers have a venue to talk and discuss not only gaming but anything geeky or otherwise! Don’t be afraid to post, if people are mean or start belittling you we will remove them (general trash talk is acceptable).

Tell your friends about us! We won’t grow until the word continues to get out to people that a LAN Party is right here in Wichita! Wichita LAN Party and LAN LORDZ can’t grow unless people know about us and what we do! We are a gaming community open to everyone of every gaming _style_ not some kind of special club only the 1337 get into.

If I missed something or you would like to add on to this Please post after this. I am trying to compile a full list to take with me to MindScapes on Friday to discuss with the Staff and anyone else from WLP or LL that decides to show up and put their $0.02 in!

I agree with Drupi on the power, it seems the things we are in control of, are the daisy chain and power supply issues.

Even with sli and the works, no more than 700watts is recommended by most vendors. I don't know the specific limit, but I would think any more than that is pushing our power capacity. Its not that people with 1000 watts worth of hardware are not welcome, but people who KNOW they have abnormal power needs, need to ASK and tell us in advance so we can accommodate you. Showing up day of, it has to be understood may not help you out the most.

I can say this much, I would dare anyone to say they use more power than my Mac Pro which only USES about 600 watts.

Just a question, how many of you guys use ALP during the LAN for information?

It actually COULD fix ALLOT of the issues complained about, it makes me wonder if you guys use it or not?

I have tried to use ALP during lan for information but it isn't updated often or soon enough.

On a side note, I will bring to the lan a device which measures power, current and voltage to any device plugged into it up to 15 amps. It will be available for anyone to borrow.
