Hey everyone!

So the server is running now (sorta).

Here's the deal the server we have is temporary, the company that is providing us with the server has found out that the flavor of linux they use is not conducive to Game Servers. So we are building them a custom image of our own setup to be sent on a HDD to them to load up for us. once this happens then we will be able to provide you with everything we have available normally at our LAN Parties but via the internet for everyone to play on!


here is the IP for the Temporary Server 206.55.115.182 this ip is the same for all games with the default ports

Servers available at this time are the following:

HL2DM
Counter-Strike Source
Quake 3 OSP Instagib
Quake 4 Max
Teamspeak 2

once the correct server is online we will post the new IP if their is one and have serverstat running on the website showing what is online.

What version of Linux are they using? What are you using?

They are using CentOS 4 which is great for Web Hosting or actual servers in a commercial environment. But for game servers it is causing fits with not being able to find libraries that are already installed


WLP uses Debian 4 Etch. it is exteremly efficient, stripped down to just what we need, and we have spent almost 2 years tweaking it out for game server performance.

Its around that time of the year where I try different distros and move to the one I like the best. I wanted to see what the server side of the world is using.

they use several... most of them older distro's Redhat 9 Enterprise, CentOS 4, and a couple others that are commercial that I have never delt with.
